Dinosaur Museum

Today we asked Kate what she wanted to do and she said she wanted to go to the Dinosaur Museum, so we all got ready and off we went. We had a great time, Kate had a great time running around and looking at all the dinosaurs. She liked playing in the water and sand area best. She is so funny to watch though. She is kind of a slow mover in there, picking of a handful of sand here, piling it up there. It's funny. I tried to get her to look up so I could get a good picture but she was totally ignoring me. I felt like I was some stranger trying to get her to let me take a picture of her and she was just looking around like, I don't know why this person is talking to me...gotta love it! Dylan was good, he slept some of the time and then looked around at everything when he woke up. After we went to the museum we went over to the candy store and got a treat. Unfortunately for me Dylan is not a fan of when I eat chocolate, it results in projectile spit up, so I ended up with smarties, so sad.

Dylan at 2 Months!

Dylan had his 2 month appointment last week. I can't believe how big he is already. He doesn't even look like a 2 month old to me. He weighed 13 lbs. 9 oz. (which seemed kind of big to me until my doctor told me his daughter weighed 18 lbs. at her 2 month appointment!) and was 22.75 inches long. He was so good during the appointment, then the shots came - they gave him 5 shots, which seemed like a lot to me, I felt so bad as he screamed and screamed, but he stopped when the nurse stopped and I picked him up. He's a fun little baby. He's been smiling so much lately, I love it! He even laughs a little and he coos, so cute! He loves looking around and focusing on his toys. We even got out last week for a walk since it finally warmed up a little and he loved it - fresh air! He is not such a fan of tummy time, but he does lift his head and look around, he just doesn't want to stay there long. He has started grasping things and he loves sucking on his hands.



He has a mild case of Torticolisis we have have to try to get him to turn his head to the left. he has gotten better than he was, hopefully he will continue to improve. Unfortunately he has been a little sick this past week with some sort of virus. On Monday his poor little body was working so hard fighting it that he slept from 2:30pm-11:00pm!!! At first I was thinking, "sweet, he is learning to sleep longer", but then as it kept getting later and later, I started getting worried. I kept checking on him to make sure he was still breathing, he was in such a deep sleep. Eventually Sean went up and woke him up. I think he is starting to feel a little better now. Life with Two!

Life with two kids has been a little crazy, but it is getting easier. Dylan is a really good baby (and I realize that because I'm saying that then of course he won't be!!!). The first few weeks were a little hectic because we had family staying at our house and Kate was completely off her schedule and dealing with not having as much of my attention as she was used to. After about a week of having just her and I and Dylan at home she went back to her old self, which I was very grateful. I really thought I was going to lose it that week. Dealing with a whiny, dramatic Kate on no sleep was just not working. Don't get me wrong, she is still a 2 year old. I definitely went through the "we're never having another kid" phase. Now that Dylan is getting on a schedule and Kate is back to normal I could actually see having another in the future, Sean may take more convincing though.

Most days I feel like I don't feel like I get much done, but I think we still have fun. I was looking at some pictures I took today so I thought I'd post them. This is what we did today:

Here's Kate with her first person drawing. This is Sean, and if you're wondering what is all over his face (because of course it looks just like him), that would be owies, not really sure why!!?

Here's Kate in a dress I bought for her for this summer and her "slap my cap" hat, (from My Friends Tigger and Pooh). She thinks the hat is the coolest and she loves the dress and always wants to wear it, especially if she is going to dance. She thinks she must wear a dress when she dances.

Here she is taking her nap. She has been trying to boycot her naps for a while now, but she totally needs them because she gets too tired. We got this tent at IKEA last weekend and so far it is worth every penny.

We made sugar cookies today. I had wanted to do it for Christmas with her but it just never happened. She had fun, especially eating the cookies. She isn't usually a dessert girl, but I gave her one last cookie and then turned away from her and the cookies to check my phone. She ate that cookie and then swiped another without me knowing. She started getting in my face prancing around say, "I got another cookie" as she ate it. Too funny, such a kid.

Dylan is growing so fast. He seems to be getting bigger faster than Kate ever did. He has been smiling more and more the past couple of weeks, which I love. He has the cutest smile with a dimple on his left cheek. I haven't been able to get a good picture of his smile, but when I do I'll post it. He has been sleeping pretty good for the past week or so, he'll even fall asleep on his own if I put him in his crib, which I think is amazing! Here are some pictures of Dylan the past couple weeks, looking at the pictures makes me realize how much he has grown. He has the chubbiest cheeks.

Where's Dylan? I thought this was funny...

Tummy time, lifting his head. He usually only lifts it for a short time and then just rests. I think it is so funny because Kate never put her head down when she was on her tummy until she was like 6 months old. I remember taking a picture because it had never happened.

These last two pictures were just taken today, of course I think he's adorable. He is getting so big!

Dylan's Blessing

Sean blessed Dylan on January 4th. Dylan did so great, he didn't even make a peep during the blessing. We had our families over after the blessing to eat and hang out. Most of my family was here and Sean's parents were also able to make it. They were able to spend a few days with us before the blessing also. We're so grateful to have our families close and be able to spend time with them.

Our Christmas

We celebrated Christmas Eve at my parents house. We had a good time, it was fun to watch Kate so excited for Christmas and having a great time with her cousins. It was great having Dylan home with us for Christmas, it just made it seem more complete. He was definitely the best gift we received.





We went home late and got the kids in bed and then got ready for Santa. I was really tired, but so grateful that I wrapped all the presents before Dylan was born. Kate slept in until almost 9am, which she never does, but we were grateful. We had so much fun watching Kate on Christmas morning. She was really excited that Santa had come and brought her presents.







Kate's favorite presents were her new dollhouse and dress up clothes, but she loved all her presents. Kate loves to play, she loves toys or anything that she can use as a toy. She loves to pretend and she is very creative with all of the random objects she comes across. She was in heaven will all the new stuff.

Dylan slept while we opened presents. Me, being the exhausted mom that I was, didn't even get a picture of Dylan at home on Christmas since he was sleeping in his crib while we opened the presents. Fortunately I at least got some pictures of him later that day and my parents' house.





After we opened our presents at our house and ate a Norwegian pancake breakfast, we headed up to my parents' house. We spent the rest of the day hanging out and playing in the snow. Obviously Dylan and I didn't spend any time in the snow, but Kate and Sean spent a lot of time outside playing in the snow with my brothers and sister-in-law. Kate played out in the snow for over 2 hours. She was such a trooper. It was so cold outside but she just didn't want to come in, she was having too much fun. We were finally able to get her to come in, she was exhausted. She has been boycotting her naps lately, so she hadn't had a nap. We went home around 6pm and she fell asleep on the drive home (my parents only live a mile away!). We tried waking her when we got home and she would not wake up, she was completely exhausted! We decided to just put her in bed and hope she slept through the night. Much to our surprise, she did! We had a great Christmas!

Bringing Dylan Home

We brought Dylan home from the hospital on December 18th. It snowed so much that day. I remember sitting in my hospital bed looking out the window, wondering if it was ever going to stop. Sean had to go to work in the morning and came and picked us up just before noon. We were definately ready to go home. It was good to be home, but it was hard not being able to move quickly and not being able to hold Kate and do things for her. Since there was so much snow, Sean took Kate out to play. There were out there until it got dark. She had a great time playing with him.

















Kate loves holding Dylan, and especially putting his binky in his mouth, she is a little obsessed with it.

Catching Up

I've been totally behind on blogging, you know, considering the new addition and all, but I will be updating it the next few days, so if you're interested, check back...

Our new little one...

Our little baby boy was born on Monday, December 15th at 6:56am. We had to be at the hospital at 5:30am. I had a c-section, just like with Kate. I wasn't really looking forward to the c-section, I was so hoping he would decide to come on his own, but, what do you do? Here's the stats on the little guy...

Dylan Sean Williams
7 lbs, 11 oz
18 inches

When we first saw him when he was still swollen, I didn't think he looked like either of us, but now I think he mostly looks like Sean, especially when he opens his eyes. He doesn't have much hair, just a little bit of dark fuzz. He has a little dimple on his left cheek. So far he has been a great baby, I'm crossing my fingers he stays that way!

Dylan and I are both doing well. I had a slight complication that resulted in excruciating pain in my chest and problems breathing on Monday night. They did a CT scan to determine if I had a blood clot. The scan came back clear but the pain was still there when I took deep breaths. At the time they didn't really have an answer for the pain, they just said it was probably and air bubble that got up near my chest during the surgery and it would have to just be absorbed into my body (so there wasn't anything they could do!). Fortunately (I say that now that the pain is gone) the intense pain only lasted about a half hour to an hour 3 different times that night, and the remainder of the time it was just painful, but not excruciating. When I spoke to my doctor today and explained it he said it was probably pleurisy (which actually sounded more plausible to me). Whatever it was, I am glad it is gone. I woke up this morning without the pain and I am so grateful!

Kate loves her new baby brother. She loves to hold him and give him kisses and check out his little hands and feet. It's fun to watch her with him. She has been staying home with Grandma Williams (Sean's mom) so that has been fun for her. I think it has helped that she has been able to be at home instead of having to stay at other places with different people.

She came to the hospital today to visit and she watched TV with me in bed. I snuggled up next to her and she fell asleep within a minute, so precious.
